We meet at the French Creek Nature Center located at 4530 Colorado Ave. in Sheffield Village. Take I-90 to Exit 151, Sheffield/Avon/Route 611. Turn north onto Route 611. The French Creek Nature Center is on your left.

Glenn Weisner (Toledo, Glenn River Fly Co.) will be sharing a presentation with us on his travels, with Wayne Samson and Chris Helm, to the Bahamas and fly fishing at Crooked Island. This will be a great mid-winter mental escape for all of us.

Here is Glenn’s description: A View of Crooked Island and the Saltwater - travel with Glenn and Wayne and visit the virtually uninhabited out-island of Crooked Island in the Bahamas. Armed with big sticks, suntan lotion, sunglasses and absolutely no experience on saltwater we were guided by our very close friend Chris Helm (a regular to the salt) and of course the locals who kept saying to Glenn ..."hey maaaan...those TROUT moves will not work down here maaaan"..... Our goal of this presentation is to introduce you to the world of salt, the elements, the quarry, the gear & clothing, the people and the way of life that will surely captivate you.

Target audience- this presentation is VERY fly-fishing related and is basically a "destination" presentation for those wishing to learn more about the small, seemingly primitive, out-island and it's wonderful people and fishing opportunities. As a "destination" slide show quite a bit of information will be presented covering: travel, lodging, local culture & people, fly-fishing operations, spin fishing opportunities, gear, clothing, fly patterns, specific techniques and of course some old fashioned "fish" stories. If you have been to the "salt" a lot- we are sure you will see some familiar sights! If you have never been to the Bahamas to fish the "salt" we are sure you will find this presentation to be both enjoyable & informative.
