The Firelands Fly Fishers is a group consisting of fly fishers of all skill levels and experience. Our goal is to educate members on all aspects of fly fishing including fly casting, fly tying and conservation. We are an affiliate of the Federation of Fly Fishers. The Firelands Fly Fishers are located in Avon, OH.
The Firelands Fly Fishers meet from 6:30 to 9:00 PM on the second Wednesday of every month (September - June) at The French Creek Nature Center which is located at 4530 Colorado Ave. in Sheffield Village. For more information contact Bill Grake at (440) 937-5258 or email us here.

February Fly of the Month
This month's fly is the Dark Quill Sulphur Nymph. Tim Schulz is on record as saying that he would eat this fly! It's actually hard to argue with him.
Next Meeting: February 10th
The next meeting of the Firelands Fly Fishers will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at the French Creek Nature Center located at 4530 Colorado Ave. in Sheffield Village. Take I-90 to Exit 151, Sheffield/Avon/Route 611. Turn north onto Route 611. The French Creek Nature Center is on your left.
Our featured speaker will be Brian Meszaros. Brian is a guide on Lake St. Clair and Western Lake Erie. Brian will also have some amazing photos or video to get you thinking about Spring. Brian guides for bass and muskie while fly fishing from a boat. His guide service is Great Lakes Flyfishing.
Fly Tying at Gander Mountain
Fly
tying sessions will resume on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gander
Mountain Lodge in Sheffield. Note that the second Wednesday of each month
is omitted to allow for the monthly club meetings. Sessions are open to
members and non-members, All skill levels are welcome.
Fly Tying Classes will take place in Gander
Mountain’s Lodge Room:

A reminder to all members and news to many new members – we have a library! Mike Janosko is our club librarian and has a very special bag (like Santa for Fly Fishermen) full of the items listed below. Materials can be "checked out" or borrowed for one month. Just sign out the item and leave a $5 deposit at one of our meetings and return it at the next meeting and get your $5 back!
We are also accepting donations of books or DVD’s to the library! If you would like to communicate with Mike in advance of a meeting, e-mail him at mjanosko@aol.com
